Allan Domb, a prominent real estate leader in Philadelphia, is running for mayor. An election victory would cement Allan Domb as the 100th mayor of Philly. He aims to devote his political term to addressing public safety, poverty, affordable housing, and education.
Our studio commutes from Old City to his main office in Rittenhouse Square at 1845 Walnut Street. Allan is appearing in a magazine spread for the latest issue of Philadelphia Style. We set up our camera equipment to photograph his portrait for a two-page spread.
At the time of this photo session, the Philadelphia Eagles are only one win away from playing in Super Bowl LVII in Arizona. Allan Domb chooses to represent the football team with a green square-patterned tie. A charcoal grey suit compliments the look. As always, Allan wears his signature blue frame glasses.
Even Allan Domb’s rescue dog, Allie, wears a brown sweater to keep warm. A feature spread in Philadelphia Style magazine calls for subjects—and even beloved pets—to dress their best.
Before capturing Allan Domb’s portrait photo, we perform a location scout. Allan is extremely busy, so we only have about forty-five minutes to photograph him. Since the mayoral candidate is appearing in a spread, we need horizontal dimensions for this photo, rather than vertical.
We choose to photograph Allan Domb beside his waiting room at 1845 Walnut Street. The brown wood, conference glass, and beige wallpaper is a beautiful neutral setting. It is spacious and simple—just how we like it!
Allan picks up his rescue dog, Allie, as he poses for photos. She’s a curious pooch, so we whistle to grab her attention. As we do this, her eyes widen and her ears tilt in various directions. It is a picture-perfect moment!
